What are you talking about?

• A great opportunity for engineering students but also for recently graduated engineers to share their research problems in Mechatronics & Robotics and related areas and to get in touch with many people from universities and companies.

• A poster session only for student to present their projects;
• Tutorials and debates;
• Special oral sessions for the best student papers;
• Prize award for the best projects and presentations.

• COMPUTER AND CONTROL SYSTEMS: Advanced adaptive control, micro controller based systems, robust control, real-time control, data processing, estimation and identification techniques, fault-tolerant systems, networked control systems, controller design, control engineering, agent-based control, non-linear control systems, neural networks, fuzzy logic, evolutionary computing, wearable computers, and applications.
• INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS: Computer vision, embedded systems, factory communication, networks, assistance systems, telematics, diagnostics & prevention, CAD/CAM/CAT/CIM, teleservice, man-machine communication, software engineering, interfaces, simulation, VR+AR, industrial applications of internet technologies, multimedia, and communication techniques.
• SENSORS AND ACTUATORS: Intelligent sensors and actuators, multi-sensor fusion, micro/nanotechnology, microsensors and microactuators, instrumentation electronics, MEMS and system integration.
• MECHATRONICS: Analysis, modeling and simulation, system design, motion control, cooperative systems, kinematics and dynamics, micro and nano devices, intelligent systems, mechatronic engineering, education in mechatronics, and application of mechatronic systems.
• ROBOTICS: Industrial robots, biomedical robotics, biorobotics, humanoid robotics, autonomous mobile robots, multi-robot teams, multi-modal interaction, tele-robotics (hazardous environments, tele-medicine, tele-education), cognitive systems, service robots, human-robot cooperation, robot vision, and application of robot systems.

• Students registered in engineering courses (B.Sc and M.Sc.) and also recently graduated engineers (max two years since graduation) are strongly encouraged to participate in the Student Forum and to submit their projects for the poster session. The papers, describing the project, will be included in the CD Proceedings. At least one of the authors (not the supervisor of the project) must register (paying the inscription fee of 50 EUR) and present the poster.

• Universities and Companies are also invited to join in by giving their sponsorship to the Student Forum. Their financial help will go to the participants of the Student Forum as participation grants. Companies can also hold interview sessions to offer working opportunities and traineeships. Sponsorships provided will be acknowledged by the inclusion of the company logo in the Student Forum program, the proceedings and the web site.

• Authors should submit a copy of their full paper, in English, with 6 pages maximum, by email. The submitted paper should be in final format ( MS Word - RTF Format or PDF Format) and should include: title, technical area, authors (students, ex-students and no more that one supervisor!), mailing address of each author, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address. The paper should include a clearly defined problem statement including aims, conclusions, a reference list and recommendations for further work.
